Near-cloud aerosols in monsoon environment and its impact on radiative forcing
Study shows that the near cloud humidified aerosols can increase reflected flux by 20% as compared to cloud free regions, consequently brightening the near cloud areas during Indian summer monsoon. Global circulation model simulations often yield erroneous correlations between aerosol and cloud properties; this research highlights direct radiative forcing owing to this humidification effect. Spatio temporal characteristics of seasonal to multidecadal variability of pCO2 and air-sea CO2 fluxes in the equatorial Pacific Ocean
A novel strategy of EOFs in a time-time domain is demonstrated, for the first time, and identified the spatio-temporal locking of the equatorial Pacific pCO2 and CO2 fluxes related to the various flavors of ENSO. The study also brought out a few aspects of multi-decadal variability in the equatorial Pacific, where the carbon cycle variability is the largest among the global oceans, and examined its impact on pCO2/CO2 fluxes. Deposition ice nuclei observations over the Indian region during CAIPEEX
In the analysis of Ice Nuclei (IN) samples collected over Indian region during the Cloud Aerosol Interaction and Precipitation Enhancement Experiment (CAIPEEX) large spatial and temporal variation in IN concentration has been observed. Also significant increase in IN concentrations with supersaturation over ice has been observed.. Read More...
