IITM Observed Vigilance Awareness Week-2017

 

IITM  observed Vigilance Awareness Week (Satartakata jagrukata Saptaha) in the Institute during 30th October - 4th November 2017. Also National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekata Diwas) was observed on 31st October 2017.  On this occasion, a pledge was administered by Director, IITM among all the employees on 30th October 2017 for "Vigilance Awareness Week" and  for "National Unity Day" on 31st October 2017. As per the Central Vigilance Commission Guidelines, a Slogan Competition and Essay Competition was arranged on the theme "My vision-Corruption free India".

Participation of IITM in 3rd India International Science Festival (IISF)

The 3rd India International Science Festival (IISF) was organised by Ministry of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) during 13-16 October 2017 at Chennai. IITM participatedin the Science Expo in MoES pavilion.

Hindi and Oriya versions of IITM publication on Lightning released

A Hindi (तड़ित : कारण, नुकसान एवं सावधानियाँ) and Oriya versions of a publication by IITM "Lightning: Causes, damages & Precautions" were released  by the Institute at the hands of honorable  Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani,  Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Member of Parliamentary committee on Official Language in the "All India Rajbhasha Hindi Conference and Workshop", organized by Parivartan Jan Kalyan  Samiti – Delhi, at Puri, Odissa during 12-14 October 2017.

Upcoming Climate Modelling Lecture Series

Special Lecture series on Cloud Convection And Parameterization by Prof. Christian Jakob, Prof of Climate Modelling, School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment, Monash University, Australia has been organized by IITM during 11-14 December 2017.

Dr. John McGregor, CSIRO, Melbourne Australia, is on visit to IITM. He is delivering a seminar on the topic “Two new dynamical core on the Uniform Jacobian cubed-sphere“ at IITM on 16 October 2017.


 
Dr. Ashish Sharma, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences and Environmental Change Initiative (ECI), University of Notre Dame, IN, USA is on visit to IITM. He will deliver a seminar "Urban Climate Modelling: Current & Future Research Directions at the University of Notre Dame" on 11 October 2017 at IITM.
