1) Anna Mani Award for Woman Scientist: Dr. Swapna Panickal, Scientist-E
Dr. Swapna has made outstanding contribution in the development of the IITM-Earth System Model. She has a strong experience in climate modelling, ocean atmosphere interaction, links between Indian ocean dipole and monsoon variability. She has incorporated a new global ocean component in the Climate Forecast System (CFS) coupled model.
In recognition to her outstanding contributions in the field of Atmospheric Science, the Ministry of Earth Sciences honored Dr. Swapna Panickal with the 'Dr. Anna Mani Woman Scientist Award' for the year 2022.

2) Young Researcher Award – 2022: Dr. Anoop Sharad Mahajan, Scientist-F
Dr. Anoop has been working in the field of earth and climate sciences with a focus on atmospheric chemistry. His work on halogen compound has helped in increasing the understanding of their emissions, which have climatic implications. His group is the first Indian group who has created and published a global emission inventory of climatic trace gases.
In recognition to his outstanding contributions in the field of Atmospheric Sciences, the Ministry of Earth Sciences honored Dr. Anoop Sharad Mahajan with the 'Young Researcher Award' for the year 2022.

3)   Certificate of Merit Award: Dr. Milind Mujumdar, Scientist-E
In recognition to his outstanding contributions in the field of Atmospheric Science & Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences honored Dr. Milind Mujumdar with the 'Certificate of Merit Award' for the year 2022.
