The first day event (1st July, 2019), IITM, Pune in collaboration with Nisarg, NGO (who are working for plastic free environment) has interacted with Palakhis Warkari on their way from Pune to Pandharpur and distributed cloth bags (400 Nos.) on account of Swachhta Pakwada. The Palakhis tradition is more than 700 to 800 years old and it is a one of the major festival celebrated in Maharashtra, with a participation of around four lakhs people across the state.
The Second day (2nd July 2019):
As per the directions from Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS), Govt. of India and MoES, New Delhi, a cleanliness drive has started by this Institute (IITM) and Swachhata Pakhwada pledge has been taken on 2nd July, 2019at 1100 hrs. by all the IITM staff in presence of Director, IITM. Director, IITM has encouraged to all the staff members to adhere the guidelines regarding the Swachhata Pakhwada received from MDWS and MoES and instructed to take active participation in this national event to make it as a grand success as desired by Govt. of India.
The third day (3rd July 2019):
As per the directions from Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS), Govt. of India and MoES, New Delhi, Director, IITM has initiated the cleanliness drive in the Office premises as well as outside area of the office premises on 3rd July, 2019 at 1100 hrs. and motivated the officials of the Institute (IITM) about cleanliness drive. All the office staff joined enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive and contributed towards cleaning of respective section / division and outside area of the office premises.
The fourth day (4rd July 2019):
A cleanliness drive was arranged at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ganeshkhind, Pune on account of Swachhata Pakhwada on 4th July, 2019. Office staff including JRF / SRF / M.Tech students also attended the event and contributed their valuable labour hours for the cleaning of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) campus.
