CAIPEEX IV ground campaign has started in May 2017. Various ground based instruments are installed in Singhat College of Engineering, Solapur at the core of rain shadow region. As part of year 1 (2017) efforts, the background data has been collected with ground based instrumentation. Microwave radiometer for thermodynamic measurements, sodar for lower atmospheric wind, SMPS and CCN counter for aerosol and cloud condensation nuclei measurements, daily radiosonde flights for wind, temperature and humidity profiles, aerosol chemistry measurements, etc. are ongoing. 157 radiosonde measurements have been completed till 10th November 2017. |
